General Contractor:

Architect:

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Description:
Armed Forces Reserve Centers with Field Maintenance Shops
Located in Norman and Mustang, Oklahoma
AFRC Norman: 78,000 square feet of exterior wall surface
WOKC AFRC: 69,000 square feet of exterior wall surface

Exterior Wall Panels:
Tilt-up concrete panels with one time use stone form liner pattern and smooth texture above and below the stone pattern.

Cleaning Process:
All exterior concrete panels were cleaned with ProSoCo Heavy Duty Concrete Cleaner and hot water pressure wash in order to remove concrete release agent and general job site dirt. The cleaning process also produced a very light etching to the smooth face of the panels so that Nawkaw's stain was able to permanently penetrate the face of the panels. The walls were then rinsed of any cleaning product residue with clean clear potable water.

Color Treatment Process:
Product: NECT-90
A five color application to create a natural stone look throughout.
All color selections were previously approved during a mock-up wall presentation completed months prior to the start of the job.
The application of the "base" color that created the finished color on the smooth sections of the panels and acted as the mortar joint color between the stones was applied with a spray and back-roll application.
The secondary and most noticeable application of the four color blend to the stone liner pattern was created by hand using rollers, sponges and rags. The consistent color range throughout the entire building was the main goal set by the owner and architect. Due to the repetition of the stone pattern, special care and planning was taken in the field so that a color pattern was not created within the stone pattern.
