Durability
under Saline or Marine Environments
|
|
| |
Occasionally
brickwork or masonry needs to be constructed of materials that are
suited to withstand a severe marine or saline environment. These salts
may enter and corrode or fret (disintegrate) unsuitable masonry.
Such environments occur near oceans and salt water
lakes with wind borne sea spray, or, in former pasture land or reclaimed
coastal lowlands and swamps where the salt enters the masonry or brickwork
from the ground salts present.

It
is essential that our products are compatible with these environments.
We
tested our product applied to bricks at an independent laboratory
in Australia.
The Nawkaw product was unaffected by the harsh salt
cycling test conducted by the laboratory.
Nawkaw NECT-90 and NWRT-91 are suitable for use in
such environments.
